Julie Bolduc DeFilippo, PhD, MSW, LICSW is the founder of the Center for Complex Neurodevelopmental Care. A clinician, researcher, and advocate, her work focuses on the intersections of neurodevelopment, trauma, family systems, and social context. Julie’s approach integrates clinical care, research, and systems change to support individuals and families whose needs are often described as “complex.” She believes care should adapt to people—not the other way around—and works to build environments where safety, regulation, and possibility can grow.

An Integrated Vision

Julie founded the Center for Complex Neurodevelopmental Care with the belief that complexity is not a problem to eliminate but a reality to understand. Her work is grounded in the conviction that every person has the capacity for growth, agency, and meaningful contribution when the right supports and conditions are in place.

A Relational & Systems-Aware Approach

Her approach is relational, person-centered, and systems-aware. She believes care should adapt to the person—not the other way around—and works to create environments where safety, regulation, connection, and agency can grow.

Consultation & Training

Complexity is something to understand, not eliminate.

In addition to clinical work, Julie provides consultation and training for caregivers, educators, clinicians, and organizations seeking to better support individuals with complex neurodevelopmental profiles. Her consultation work often centers on bridging understanding across home, school, and clinical settings and helping systems build more responsive, inclusive approaches to care.
